Dear Kindergarten Parent/Guardian:

 

This summer "Safety Town" will celebrate 35 years of pre-school safety education in the Middletown Community. Your child will be instructed in pedestrian, vehicle and school bus safety. Dealing with strangers and fire safety will also be discussed. It is never too early to plant the seed of safety!

Officer Phil Salm of the Middletown Division of Police teaches the sessions which include classroom instruction, vid-eos and driving pedal cars in a simulated village in the gymnasium. The children are also fingerprinted for parents. Thursday is a two hour day for the children to take a school bus trip to the fire department where they visit the fire safety house. The week ends with a graduation ceremony. Graduation begins approximately 45 minutes before the end of class and you are welcome to take videos and photographs on that day. Doors open 10 minutes before class times. Safety Town is located at Amanda School, on Oxford State Road. Please enter through Door D on the east side of the school.

Please note the July 10-14 class will be offered Tuesday thru Saturday.

 

SAFETY TOWN IS ONLY OFFERED TO CHILDREN ENTERING KINDERGARTEN

Beginning Monday, May 7, you may call the Safety Council of Southwestern Ohio at 513-423-9758 to register your child. Sessions are assigned on a first call basis. Please mark your calendar when you call because no reminders are sent.

We look forward to seeing your child at Safety Town this summer!

Dad was taken off the ventilator for about 8 hours Sunday evening. He was not strong enough to breathe on his own so he is back on. It has been touch and go.
Paul Florence from Yankee Road Church of God, came to pray for dad today while my sis and I were there this morning. Paul is undergoing chemotherapy at this time. We didn't ask what for. Paul is a true Believer In Prayer. He prayed for a miracle for dad. Small things such as this truly compassionate and caring man, can make such large things more bearable. I don't know how else to put it.

Dad was unresponsive to me, my sis, Jim and staff today. No squeezing our hands. No nodding yes or no to easy questions. He is on TPN and feeding tube at this time. TBN is straight vitamins and nutrients into the blood stream. Feeding tube, we think, is starting to work. BP is elevated but they are careful to treat that. He was truly restless, moving legs a lot today. But that is good for circulation. We have experienced a wonderful staff in the CVICU at Atrium.

We still need lots of prayers and good thoughts coming our way.
I am not apologizing for not answering my cell or calling anyone back right away. Texting right now is so much easier. We are tired and emotional. I thank God for the great nurses and staff of Atrium. They truly are one of a kind!! ♥.
